And we’re off! Cycling onto a ferry is always exciting, heralding the start of a new adventure. This one’s possibly a little foolhardy – cycling 800 miles from St Malo to Montpellier. Hmm…

We’ve generously given ourselves over three weeks to complete this trip, so there’s plenty of time for being tourists and enjoying as many patisseries and boulangeries as we can find. Neither of us has managed even a half-decent training program in readiness for so much time in the saddle, so I guess we’ll just have to stop whenever we find a nice bar or café.
